On a quiet Sunday afternoon, Jules laid sprawled across the bed in his boxer’s shorts. His attention remained focused as he watched the Sunday NFL game. The Buffalo Bills were playing the Miami Dolphins. The Bills were leading 21-7.

Keisha stood in the kitchen, preparing hot wings and sipping on a glass of wine. She was in a happy mood and couldn’t wait to get back in bed with Jules. Their early morning sexual bout still had her yearning for more. She eagerly began planning their next escapade in her mind when the phone rang.

Jules rolled out of the bed and answered it. He spent twenty seconds on the phone repeating, “Okay, got it,” then hung up.

He said, “Baby, I have to run out for a second.” He didn’t wait for an approval, he just started getting

dressed.

Keisha remained in the kitchen slightly upset. It was supposed to be their day together. Every Sunday since they moved in together, they spent the entire day enjoying each other’s company. Curious, she asked, “Where are you going?”

Jules didn’t want to lie to her, so he said, “I’m going to meet with someone about a business offer.”

Keisha took a hefty swig from the wine glass. She then sat down and asked with a serious attitude, “Who are you going to meet Jules?”

“Look, I don’t need to explain my every move to you. Furthermore, do I ask you where you’re going every time you step foot outside the door?”

“That’s because either you already know where I’m going, or you just don’t care. I asked because I’m concerned.”

“Well, there’s no need to be concerned. I have

to make a run and I’ll be right back.”

Keisha became angry. She yelled, “Who the hell do you think you’re fooling Jules, yourself? I know you probably got you a side chick.” She stood, her anger heightened. “Was that her who just called you? Let me see your phone.” She started towards his cell phone.

Jules stepped in front of her, blocking her path. He said, “What the hell is wrong with you, Keisha? Side chick, are you serious?”

“Move Jules, and let me see your phone.”

Jules grabbed his cell phone and put it in his pocket. He said, “You’re trippin’.” He hurried to finish getting dressed, because he wasn’t in the mood to listen to Keisha bickering.

Keisha said, “No, you’re busted. I knew your ass was a cheater when I first met you.”

Jules looked at her and shook his head. He

figured things would be better after their discussion about the incident at the pool hall. However, things seem to have gotten worse. He was simply tired of it and refused to entertain her accusations.

Jules finished dressing and tried to kiss Keisha on the lips before he left. She turned her head and swore she wouldn’t be there by the time he got back.

Jules wasn’t worried though; he had heard that threat a few times. Sometimes he wished she would hold good to her promise. He needed some time to himself to think about if Keisha was really the woman that he wanted to spend his life with.
